DWH Group Limited Sponsors Week-Long Community Soccer Gala in Lower Manya Krobo
Monday, 5 January 2025 — As part of its ongoing Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives, DWH Group Limited successfully sponsored a week-long community soccer gala involving fourteen (14) communities in Kpong, within the Lower Manya Krobo Municipality of the Eastern Region of Ghana.
The tournament was organized to promote unity, youth development, and healthy competition among participating communities. Throughout the week, teams demonstrated exceptional talent, discipline, and sportsmanship, drawing strong community support and enthusiasm.
The grand finale was honored by the presence of the Chief Executive Officer of DWH Group Limited, Mr. David Walter Hormenu, who led a delegation representing both the company and its partner NGO. In his address, he emphasized the importance of sports as a catalyst for social cohesion, youth empowerment, and community development.
At the conclusion of the tournament, the Kpong–Ahunjo Electoral Area emerged as the ultimate winners. The championship trophy was officially presented to the winning team by the CEO amidst celebrations and appreciation from community members.
Beyond competition, the soccer gala strengthened relationships among participating communities. Local leaders, youth groups, and residents actively engaged throughout the event, fostering unity, collaboration, and a shared sense of identity.
The initiative also served as a platform to identify and nurture young football talents, offering them exposure and encouragement to pursue their sporting ambitions while promoting peace and mutual respect among communities.
